Commander Anne[]

Commander Anne is an AU version of the character Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia.

In this AU, Anne joins forces with Captain Grimes, after an alternate version of events occurred in the season 1 episode entitled "Toad Tax".

Backstory[]

In the original series, Anne was warped into a forest next to a town named Wartwood, after being mistaken as a beast by the locals, she was taken in by a family of farmers named The Plantars.

In Season 1 Episode 10, entitled "Toad Tax", Anne feels as if the townsfolk don't respect her until she met some Toads from Toad Tower, they were there to take away items from the frogs who haven't paid up their taxes, Anne decides to help out after they told her that the townsfolk would respect her for helping them do their job. They go to every house in Wartwood taking away a lot of the belongings of each house owner. In this AU, Anne doesn't help out the townsfolk. Meanwhile, Sprig (one of the Plantars) finds out that the mayor had stolen the taxes of the townsfolk and hiding it in a statue of himself. Sprig rushed back to tell the others, as Anne and the Toads reach Hoppadiah Plantar's house to take away Bessie, a family pet. The Toads were successful and right when they were about to leave, Anne stands up against them, and a fight ensued. This time, however, the townsfolk weren't on Anne's side. Anne was eventually knocked out and was taken away by the Toads to Toad Tower, Sprig arrived to tell the news but missed as the Toads ran off. Anne woke up in Toad Tower, only to reunite with Sasha; Sasha convinces Anne to join her to help find Marcy, and of course, Anne agrees, therefore becoming third in command of General Grimes' army; however, Anne isn't completely sold on the idea of becoming a tyrannical ruler.

Sometime later, while on a mission with Sasha, Anne contemplates on why they were there in the first place, and remembers that all of this is technically Sasha's fault, while at the same time Sasha pushes Anne around as if she's beneath her. This all leads to Anne having a breakdown on their way back to the tower, and a short, albeit emotional fight ensues. Anne in a fit of rage, pushes Sasha off of the wagon, into a nearby ravine, luckily Sasha survives, but Anne didn't know that, and thought that she'd killed her by accident. She tries to call her, but there was no response, Anne slowly drives off shaken after what had just happened. When Anne arrives back into the tower she confesses to it in front of everyone, and as Grime was about to instill another fight, the Toads stop him from hurting Anne as if they were in a sort of trance, and that's when Anne realizes that she's somehow controlling the Toads, she just doesn't know how or why, but she locks away Grime immediately in a dungeon just in case; Anne, unsure on what to do now, decides to continue the tower's purpose on collecting taxes and protecting the valley. She does this to honour Sasha's goal and legacy, as even though she was mad at her, she didn't mean to push her off (as it was a fight or flight reflex). Anne's sorrow slowly evolved into madness, and she preemptively became a worse person, seeing that starting a revolution to take over Amphibia is the only way Sasha would forgive her, as it was all that she ever wanted ever since she and Grime partnered up.

Sasha however, ends up washing up on a river near Wartwood, the townsfolk are unsure of what to do, as they were split on their opinion of Anne. Sprig, however, still believes that Anne was a good person and that she's just misguided, and so the Plantars take care of Sasha until she's fully conscious. Once she was, she helped the Plantars and somewhat took on Anne's mantle, while at first she was disgusted, she eventually grew to like Wartwood and the Plantars, she even helped Hop-Pop become the mayor of Wartwood thanks to her knowledge on Amphibia's political infrastructure.

Personality[]

Anne becomes selfish, and arrogant, as her only goal now is to reunite with Marcy, as for her relations to the Plantars, she tries not to think about them, as it makes her feel regretful about how she treated the townsfolk. She is, however, good with her words, able to manipulate any amphibian into doing exactly what she says.

Powers[]

Her Calamity Powers presumably originate from the blue gem on the Calamity Box, it's said that the blue crystal is correlated to the user's heart/empathy, thus Anne can pull off incredible but temporary feats, such as:

  • Enhanced Charisma: This allows her to sweet-talk her way into deceiving people, and can also get her out of tricky situations.
  • Temporary Mind Control: Allows Anne to temporarily control other people's minds for 2 and a half minutes before she starts to be physically pained by prolonged exposure. Anne can only control Amphibians, however, it's unknown if she's able to control humans as well.
  • Enhanced Strength and Endurance: Anne can withstand more damage than the average human body, and can also hold heavy objects, once again these powers are temporary.

Appearance[]

Anne's overall outfit is reminiscent of the one that she wore in Season 1 Episode 19, entitled "Anne of the Year". She wears a white tuxedo and pants, and her school outfit underneath it. She has a green Paldron on her left shoulder connected to a purple sash covered with amphibian rune symbols; it's also connected to a scabbard that holds a sword on her back. The sword, in particular, has a blue blade, and a golden crossguard and hilt. Anne's left shoe stays the same, however, her missing right shoe is replaced with one of Sasha's sabatons. Occasionally, Anne would wield a cane with a golden dragonfly on top.

Anne's Eyes

Anne's eyes when she uses her Calamity Powers.

Anne's hair is much more cleaned up, and she wears a hairpin on the back of her hair shaped like a dragonfly. She also has a scar under her left eye, caused by her fight with Sasha. Anne's eyes are normally dark brown, however, if any of her abilities activate, they'll glow a cyan color for a brief moment.

Trivia[]

  • In this AU, Hop-Pop becomes mayor.
  • The runes on Anne's sash can be decrypted into spelling her name and her placement in the hierarchy.
  • The story of this AU may change once new episodes come out.
