Birthday Mabel is the main protagonist to "Gravity Falls" by Disney. This is what happened if Bipper's presence changed things.
Birthday Mabel[]
Birthday Mabel is Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls, who was excited for her 13th birthday.
When nobody came, she became insane and started to throw "Pity Parties" for herself.
She joined the Bad End Friends after running into Bipper, but after going completely insane she thought he was her Dipper. He then invited her to join the Bad End Friends.
Background[]
(Her origins were made by an unknown person and were lost, but someone has managed to have a brief recollection of the story)
Mabel can't wait for her birthday and invites everyone she knows, including her brother. However, no one shows up to the party. Because Mabel loves being around people, she can’t stand being alone. As a result, she starts losing her sanity and throws her own "Pity Party." Eventually, she goes ballistic and trashes the house, setting it aflame and deprives herself of sleep, not wanting the party to end.
She eventually meets Bipper, but in her broken mental state, she simply accepts him as her brother. She doesn’t care how strangely he behaves, she’s just happy that he’s there.
This AU is commonly used as a continuation of the Bipper ending. Mabel feels extremely guilty about not being able to save him, which is one of the reasons she loses her sanity so quickly, and why she was so eager to join the Bad End Friends after Bipper approached her.
Appearance[]
Her appearance is the same as her appearance in Gravity Falls Season 2 Episode 17, Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future. She wears her knitted pink sweater that has a cupcake pictured on the front, a yellow skirt, and she is often depicted as wearing a blue or yellow party hat.
Personality[]
It is unknown due to her origins no longer existing. Most of the fandom depicts her as acting much the same as Mabel, an energetic, fun, bouncy, hyperactive, enthusiastic, and free-spirited girl, but in a more childishly insane or even psychotic way. She is also shown to be emotionally reliant on her friends, as her emotional state when she was "abandoned" by her past friends and no doubt Bipper's influence was not a good one as he has been shown to worsen people's mental state because, as he puts it, "It's funny how dumb you are". While she is emotionally reliant, she is also able to keep the team together because of her bubbly personality, as psychotic as it has become, she encourages the team when they're down, and is mostly around Bipper and his little psychopathic trips.
Behind the Scenes[]
Mabel originates from the "Gravity Falls" episode "Tourist Trapped " season 1. Artwork remains uncredited as the origin is gone. Gravity Falls can be watched on:
- Disney+
- Hulu
- Disney Channel
Trivia[]
- It is speculated that Birthday Mabel was based on the song 'Pity Party' by Melanie Martinez. This is because the lyrics and Birthday Mabel's origins have a few similarities, namely; crying, setting the place on fire, and both using the phrase "pity party."
- Out of all of the Original Bad End Friends (characters from Tiers 1 to 2), Birthday Mabel is the most inconclusive as her original creator remains unknown, and the original AU has been deleted.
- She's also one of the lesser known main characters, evident by the lack of fanart and other interpretations.
- Birthday Mabel is one of the first female Bad End Friends.
